Gender-Affirming Healthcare

In my personal view, it’s got precious little to do with “care.” Take my niece, for example—subjected to a hysterectomy at 22 because of period pain and identifying as nonbinary. An extreme solution if you ask me. Period pain? In my day, we’d have tossed a couple Tylenol down the hatch and called it a day. Simple. Painless. Non-surgical. But here comes the medical establishment with their zeal for carving.

What really haunts me, though, is the ghostly silence from mental health professionals. Try and broach these topics, they dissolve into fog and red tape. It's as if speaking the truth is an act of psychic violence. Meanwhile, I haven't spoken to my own so-called sons—now daughters, or were, last time the law allowed me even a phone call—well over a year. Their gender identities, apparently, are more protected than my right to parental despair.

Oh, just the usual: A suicide attempt. Enter my ex-wife Leanne Muir, whose entire parenting philosophy could be summed up as, "Let’s see who we can pay to raise these kids." Seriously, she hired tutors when the boys needed to program video games—so they could “express themselves.” Idiot. So insulting - I could have taught them so much more and yes, I am more than just a little bit angry about a system that took all my money and my power and gave it to utter idiot.

So naturally, the idiot hired a therapist. Fun game: insert a space in “therapist” and see what you get.

Chilling, isn’t it? Quite on the nose.

It’s almost supernatural, how we’ve collectively decided to outsource the most vital aspect of parenting—the moral compass, the guide through the shadows—for our children. Instead, we pay strangers armed with degrees and prescription pads to spirit away our discomfort. We hand our kids over to the wolves and hope they come back unscarred.

Spoiler: They don’t.

Within a few conversations the-rapist helped 'discover' that Rhys wanted to identify as a woman. But this hired moron wasn't willing to do the work to understand the root causes which I think were much darker that she was willing to explore.
