Security is Everything
We now live in a world where attackers have exponentially more resources and capabilities. In such an environment, the ability to run older solutions—especially those that can operate independently of the cloud or outside of mainstream networks—becomes a significant advantage.
For example, vendors like Teletracking, who have extensive 'legacy' on-premise solutions for hospitals, become suddenly much more valuable. Their older on premise solutions, once seen as outdated, gains new appeal because these systems can be isolated from network threats, making them inherently more secure and resilient.
This is where the new packaging technology I am developing with my affiliate partners Iguana 6 comes in. This technology will allow companies with legacy products to “harden” their deployments. The packaging provides two key benefits:
- Enhanced Security: By encapsulating the software, we can lock down resources and significantly reduce the attack surface, making on-premise deployments much more secure than standard cloud-based offerings.
- Intellectual Property Protection: The packaging also allows vendors to control access and ensure their customers are paying legitimately for the software, protecting their revenue streams.
Because of these advantages, hospitals that run older, distributed technologies in a securely packaged, on-premises model gain a level of resilience that many of their cloud-only competitors simply can't match.
In today’s environment, “old” technology, when properly secured and packaged, becomes the new gold standard. Legacy solutions, once considered a liability, are now a significant strategic asset.
This is true for any software company that has a long history - such as Sectra who are also in the military area. They are another very old trusted client.
