This plan was developed collaboratively, incorporating extensive consultation with all major stakeholders. Rather than emerging from isolated decision-making, it reflects the diverse perspectives and expertise of those who will be vital to its implementation and eventual success. By actively engaging stakeholders throughout the planning process, we have ensured that the plan is both comprehensive and grounded in the day-to-day realities faced by our community and organization.

Iguana 6, while deeply valued by its users for its stability, ease of use, and performance, is built on a very old codebase. Currently, only one person in the world—Eliot Muir, the founder and chief architect—fully understands this legacy system. Eliot’s unique expertise and deep familiarity with the codebase are essential for overseeing the delicate process of modernization. His involvement will ensure that the necessary updates are made while maintaining the backward compatibility that our users rely on.
