Pricing Philosophy

Pricing an interface engine like Iguana is a unique challenge. Rather than trying to assign a value based on specific features, which everyone generally needs, the real value of Iguana depends largely on your specific context and use case.

My approach is built on trust and open communication. If you are just starting out, all I ask is for a reasonable contribution, especially if you’d like support or assistance. If you need a more hands-on implementation, I am happy to refer you to an affiliate who specializes in this work.

I don’t have the capacity to serve as an unpaid consultant for uncertain or high-maintenance projects, and I’ve moved away from the old pricing model that didn’t serve either side well.

That being said, Iguana does save some organizations huge amounts of money due to its flexibility and power. If your business is getting substantial value from Iguana, I kindly ask that you consider supporting the product and the ongoing work required to keep it secure, modern, and reliable. Continued support ensures that Iguana can keep serving you well into the future. Yes it is super reliable but the environment changes and it needs to evolve with it.

My goal is to leave behind a robust product that will stand the test of time and continue to benefit its users. However, ongoing development requires resources, especially as the demand for better security and innovation grows.

I don't do all the work myself - I do pay other people to work on code but not with a traditional employee model.

If Iguana is a mission-critical part of your infrastructure and you’re currently using it for next to nothing, I encourage you to consider whether that’s a sustainable approach for either of us in the long term.

For existing customers about to renew, I truly value having an open and honest conversation to determine a fair arrangement for both parties. Please remember that I’m an individual, not a large company, so I appreciate respectful and straightforward discussions.
