Continuity
Built for the long term
Iguana is critical infrastructure for many of our customers. Our responsibility is to maintain it carefully and make sure the software they depend upon continues to work.
That means protecting backward compatibility, maintaining security, supporting existing deployments, and improving the product without creating unnecessary disruption.
Careful evolution
Healthcare integration systems often remain in production for many years. Change therefore needs to be deliberate.
We are continuing to modernize Iguana, but we are doing it incrementally. New technology is valuable when it makes the product more reliable, secure or maintainable—not simply because it is new.
Existing customers should not be forced through expensive rewrites or migrations simply because the technology industry has moved on to its next trend.
Reducing single points of failure
Continuity also applies to how we operate iNTERFACEWARE.
We are improving the resilience of the systems around Iguana, including licensing, source control, development, releases and support. Wherever practical, we are reducing dependence on individual servers, services and people.
We are also rebuilding engineering knowledge across the team so that responsibility for maintaining Iguana is shared rather than concentrated in any one person.
Keeping Iguana maintainable
One of Iguana's strengths is that it has evolved over many years without requiring customers to continually rebuild working integrations.
We intend to preserve that.
Our engineering work is focused on keeping the codebase understandable, updating important dependencies, improving security, and carefully bringing useful ideas from IguanaX into Iguana 6 where they make sense.
Our commitment
We cannot promise that technology will never change or that problems will never occur.
What we can promise is a conservative approach to critical infrastructure: understand what already works, protect it, improve it carefully, and be available when our customers need us.
Our goal remains simple:
Iguana should be the one application our customers don't need to worry about.
